Hydatid cyst disease, historically noted since Hippocrates, is a zoonotic infection particularly prevalent in areas where livestock farming is common. Predominantly caused by the Echinococcus granulosus parasite, it remains a significant public health issue in regions with close human-animal interactions. Although its incidence has declined in countries like Turkey, it still poses a serious health threat. This disease can affect almost any organ, with the liver and lungs being the most commonly involved. Therefore, pulmonary hydatid disease should be considered in the differential diagnosis of lung conditions. Lung involvement by hydatid cysts necessitates meticulous diagnosis and treatment.
