3Dr Ahmet Bütün is currently a lecturer at Faculty of Health Sciences, Mardin Artuklu University, Turkey. He completed his MSc at University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and PhD degree at Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom. His research interests focus on Emergency Department (ED) overcrowding, reasons for using the ED for non-urgent childhood illnesses, and developing interventions to reduce non-urgent ED visits. His PhD study, at Queen’s University Belfast, focused on exploring parents’ reasons for using the ED for their children with non-urgent conditions in the context of middle-income countries. His methodological expertise includes systematic reviews and qualitative methods.
