3Dr. Elif Polat completed her undergraduate education in chemistry and received her master’s and doctoral degrees in medical biochemistry. She worked as a research assistant at Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry. Dr. Polat has been working as an Assistant Professor at Erzurum Technical University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics since 2020. Her academic contributions include many national and international publications and declarations. Dr. Polat’s research focuses on ischemia reperfusion, diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome. She aims to build a bridge between these with her academic studies, medical biochemical sciences, nutrition and dietetics.

3Esra LALOĞLU completed her undergraduate medical education in 2008 and received her specialty degree in medical biochemistry in 2013. She worked as a biochemistry specialist at Erzurum Public Health Laboratory and Palandöken State Hospital for a total of six years. Dr. LALOĞLU started working as an Assistant Professor at Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry in 2019. In 2023, she received the title of associate professor in the field of Medical Biochemistry. Her academic contributions include many national and international publications and declarations. She also wrote chapters in internationally indexed books on topics related to laboratory practices, hemoglobinopathy screening test and COVID-19 infection. She advised master’s and doctoral theses. She has carried out studies to elucidate the physiopathology of many clinical diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases, cardiovascular system diseases, psychiatric diseases and respiratory system-related diseases. Her academic studies aim to understand the physiopathology of diseases and thus find new markers that can be used in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
