The natural balance in our world is rapidly deteriorating. All ecosystems in the world are affected by this deterioration. Global warming, environmental pollution, forest fires and natural disasters play an important role in the deterioration of this balance. These events directly affect biodiversity and crop production. The extent of this impact varies according to countries and various regions within countries. Crop patterns of countries change and in some regions, environments that restrict or destroy crop production are created. Accordingly, yield and quality characteristics of plants also change. Demand for food is increasing worldwide due to population growth. This increase in demand leads to insufficient agricultural production and a decrease in available water resources. All these situations have revealed the importance of strategies to be developed in afforestation. New strategies should be developed by evaluating afforestation in terms of both biodiversity and crop production. With these strategies to be developed, biodiversity will be protected and increased, the deteriorated biological balance will be improved, and fruit production will contribute to human nutrition through proper and planned production.
